Mike’s Monday Morning #Playlist: 23.9.13
Leading in with some of Britain’s best new (and some old favourite) guitar acts this week - Mike’s clearly woken up on the Indie side of the bed.
Troumaca, discovered by Gilles “the don” Peterson and signed to his Brownswood Recordings label, are a soulful Brummie 5-piece whose music mixes the best of British bass culture with a Caribbean gospel vibe.
And then there’s obviously British Sea Power, who’ve been a little quiet over the last couple of years, but who are back with their 2013 Machineries of Joy, released with Rough Trade.
Mike’s also decided to feature some interesting female talent this week. Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan get a look in; Charli XCX, Little Nikki, Etta Bond and the ironically agressive Lady Leshurr.
