Deluxe Clothing Drop AW13

Make no mistake, Deluxe Clothing is a Japan-based brand. However, Hideke Himora, the brands founder and lead designer is, as so many Japanese designers are, fascinated by American sartorial history.

This is plainly present in his latest collection. Intent on being widely desirable, the lookbook, entitled ‘Talk to Blue’, fuses ’50s American James Deanism - rolled up trousers and varsity jackets - with streetwear - leather, fur lined hoods, beanies…

It’s an odd, eclectic collection and not altogether as avant garde as you might expect, but there’s something quite charming about it.
