XWHY XMAS Guestlist – #2 Dan [DEMS]

XWHY Musical Guestlist – the experts select the best of 2013 music…

We’re continuing with our week of guest playlists. Yesterday we had resident XWHY music man Mike Thomas give us his favourite releases from the last 12 months, and today we’ve got none other than the delightful Dan Moss.

The Radio 1 and Somethin’ Else producer is a pretty busy guy, especially seeing as he also happens to be one third of electro-synth-pop trio DEMS. Luckily for us, he took time out of his schedule to throw us his ‘Best of 2013 Music’ top five.

Here’s what he had to say…

Duologue – Underworld

Wicked beatsy guitar music from these boys, channelling Radiohead, El-B and Muse, but totally original at the same time.

Khushi – Magpie

One of my fave videos of the year, awesome production and I love the brass breakdown! Big things for 2014 I imagine.

Sophie – Bipp

Really sparse dance tune that never really drops, this was my phone alarm for most of the late summer. So very catchy.

Frederic Robinson – Theme Park

Off kilter DnB from a young student in London. In fact, the whole debut album from Blu Mar Ten is worth getting into.

Thundercat – Heartbreaks + Setbacks

The sound of my summer; the man can sing, play bass and practically everything else. I think this will always remind me of beaches and hammocks.
