Tomorrowland x New Balance: MRL996RT
New Balance is the shoe brand of the moment. Well, certainly in London.
The New Balance lot have been around for a while, in fact, New Balance Arch Support company was originally founded in 1906, by a Brit!
But the Boston-based trend setter that we now recognise is a far cry from podiatrically concerned orginators of the brand.
According to a lot of people, but seen here on Complex.com, the New Balance 996 was one of the best sneakers to come out of 1988, ostensibly a great year for shoes in general (same year that brought us the Reebok SXT and the Nike Air Force III).
So, to celebrate 25 years of this marvellous creation, New Balance has teamed up with Japanese retailer Tomorrowland to produce the MRL996RT.
The predominantly black colour palette, which includes the leather strip that runs along between mid-foot and heel and the ENCAP heel clip, is a nod to the more gothic of year’s AW13 trends. And the range includes the REVlite cushioned midsole.
Snap them up now. They’re literally going to go so fast.
