The Ultimate Clean Up

Do you ever look around your home and think, ‘Damn, this is a bit cluttered’. It happens to us all. You don’t truly realise how much you clutter your home with unwanted things until you take a step back and start realising how much of your things are actually clutter. Don’t even get us started on the clutter that children bring as well! Sometimes you just need one big clean up to give your home that fresh feeling it has been needing for ages. So, if your big clean up is imminent, here’s how you can get your home looking like perfection.

What Needs To Go

Deciding what needs to go is going to be the hardest part of your big clean up. If you’re a hoarder, everything you look at you’re going to want to keep. Suddenly that picture you’ve hated for ages becomes a treasure. The foot stool that you don’t even use becomes the comfiest part of your home. So think wisely about what you really need and what you don’t need. Clutter is essentially just rubbish in the home that’s got to go. Services that you can find on websites such as will even come and take away your rubbish for you so the job is made even easier. Things to do with your children are often the hardest to part ways with. There are certain things that you’re going to want to keep. For example, their first teddy, their first blanket etc. These are fine. But if their room is being clogged up with old toys that they barely even touch, it’s time to get them gone. Children’s hospitals would be so grateful for the donation, or you could even send them to a charity.

Deep Cleaning

Now for the fun part, or not so fun part for some of you. There’s nothing more satisfying than having a deep clean as soon as you’ve got rid of all the clutter. We’re talking moving all the furniture that hasn’t been moved for years, scrubbing all corners of the bathroom, and cleaning in those lamp shades that you might not have touched for years. If you’re going to do a deep clean of the bathroom for example, use a homemade solution to really got those tough bits of grime away. The most common to use is vinegar and baking soda. It’ll smell strong, but it just cleans so so good.

Staying Clutter Free

Once you’ve got rid of the mess, it’s time to keep the mess at bay. When you come to the point of thinking something needs to go, throw it out right away. Try and keep everywhere tidy using space saving storage for the things you are going to keep. A home can often seem cluttered because there isn’t sufficient storage for it, so it just gets put in any corner of the room. There are plenty of shelves and smaller cupboards that could suit your home perfectly.

So now you should be able to tackle your ultimate clean up with ease!
