How does a little Swedish bombshell like you end up in the Middle East?

Completely randomly, like most things in life, but it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
I love living in the Middle East and Sweden is definitely too cold for me!
My mum saw an advert saying flight attendants were needed in the Middle East and I just thought: Well why not give it a go?

Five years later I am still here and I am pretty sure my mum regrets ever telling me about the ad – because she wants me back home in Sweden!

There are loads of stereotypes about flight attendants. Mainly involving short skirts, even shorter attention spans and illicit affairs in tiny toilets. Is it as glamorous and sordid as the 1960s tried to have us believe?

I wouldn’t say being in a confined space for up to 15 hours is glamorous at all. What does feel a bit more glamorous, though, is when you walk through the hotel lobby, get your room key, off with the uniform and then you suddenly have a few hours to spend shopping, eating and sightseeing somewhere new and exciting in the world, for free!

If a hot man asked you to select any location in the world for a first date, where would you pick?

Oh tricky question! There are so many romantic places around the world! But my top pick would be Paris during Christmas time. It’s cheesy I know, but I would love to stroll down the Champs Élysées holding hands, see the Eiffel Tower lit up and pop into a cute French brasserie for a glass of vin rouge.

Even if you might be conducting the odd secret mile-high affair, the other stereotypes certainly don’t apply. You are an avid reader and a serious Bret Easton Ellis fan. What do you love about his work and, importantly, do you follow him on Twitter?

I have got a confession to make; I have never ever even been on Twitter.
As far as I understand it’s about #tagging and bragging about yourself in 140 characters or less?

The first book I read of Bret Easton Ellis’ was American Psycho. His detailed writing got me hooked immediately. All his characters are so intertwined, it’s like he created his own little brutally honest world about sex, drugs and teenage angst and who doesn’t like a bit of honesty in their lives?

And you aren’t just a reader, but a writer too! Let’s talk about the Sunny Sandy blog. What pearls of wisdom have you recently shared with the world?

Blogging is my hobby and my entries are very random – just like my life.
One day I’ll be having breakfast in Bangkok and dinner in the Middle East. The blog follows me during my trips around the world and in my daily life.

Favourite Call of Duty: Black Ops level?

I am more of a Modern Warfare girl, but since Black Ops 2 has just been released – it’s what I play constantly at the moment. It’s the weekend – a girl like me should be in full makeup, 10 inch high heels, shortest of the short skirts and sipping on Mojitos, right? But no, I am sitting in bed gaming. Geek warning indeed.

What is your favourite point in a relationship?

Cuddles and more cuddles, haha! No but really, one of the perks in a relationship, apart from the obvious best friend and lover in one package, is falling asleep next to each other – if the guy doesn’t snore of course.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

There is always room for improvement in everything. If I could change one thing it would be my laidback “Mañana” ethos.  If I can push something till tomorrow – I definitely will. I wish I could be more of a do now girl! Because I always end up stressing myself out with millions of things to do at the last minute.

Briefly, what direction do you think the Middle East is headed in?

With all the troubles these past couple of years that the Middle East has suffered, we can only hope that peace time is near. I believe (or hope) that in a few years the younger, braver tourist flow will kick in and people will see the real beauty of the Arab countries, not only what they perceive it to be from news.
