Staring: Shep Gordon, Mike Myers, Michael Douglas, Alice Cooper
When to watch: A Friday night when you’re feeling guilty for not taking advantage of what’s left of your youth.
The Documentary directed by Mike Myers of Austin Powers and Wayne’s World fame, takes a look into the life of a man that your average Joe will never have heard of, but in the right circles… he’s a living legend. That man, is Shep Gordon.
Shep was manager to everything from rock bands to celebrity chefs and believe it or not a world class philanderer. How he became the manager of his very first band is just the first in a long line of wild, hard to believe stories that the documentary explores. Shep Gordon’s list of accomplishments is so unbelievable I still don’t believe it, and I’m sure even he struggles. Watch, it feels like Gordon goes from a lost university graduate to one of the most connected men in Hollywood in 4.5 seconds, with each second more wild than the last.
What you learn within the first 5 minutes of the documentary is that people don’t just like Shep, they love him. It is this, combined with the fact that he was a master in stunt pulling that helped build the legend of Shep. However it’s not all drugs and rock and roll, and his everyday human side explored through his spirituality, his loves and his friendships.
