Mike’s Monday #Playlist – 9.12.13

We’ve got some nice output from the Brits going on in this week’s playlist from Mike.

So, from the delightful Totnes in Devonshire – Metronomy is back. It’s been a good couple of years since we heard any original material from Joe Mount – he’s been off in remix wonderland. But the mellow ‘I’m Aquarius’ comes from a new album – Love Letters – due out in early 2014.

Moving slightly further East along the British coast, we’ve got Southampton born Louisa Rose Allen, a.k.a. Foxes. Her single ‘Youth’ has been something of an unprecedented hit in the US for a wee British lass. Both ‘Clarity’ by Zedd, featuring her vocals and ‘Youth’ made it to the top of the Billboard dance charts in the US.

And then heading up just North of London to High Wycombe, we’ve got current Radio 1 darlings All About She, bringing back some garage flavour to the airwaves.

And then, driving much further North we’ve got Superfood who’re giving us, arguably, what you might expect of a Birmingham four-piece – some good old fashioned 90s revivalist indie music.
