Mike’s Monday #Playlist – 19.05.14

Kicking off your week with some big tunes.

TV on the Radio will have a special place in many people’s hearts. And they’re getting on a bit now – which, as it turns out, has only heightened the quality of their output.

‘Million Miles’ is a wonderfully lolloping song. Listening to it feels like being rocked gently in a hammock of nostalgia.

And from nostalgia, we hurtle into the future with Dream Koala’s track ‘Earth’ – which, ironically, feels more like floating in space.

Karma Kid is one of those annoying genius children that we all want to despise (for being wildly successful in comparison to us), but can’t help bopping along to what are unmistakeably great tunes. ‘Like I’m on Fire’ is no different – a housey dance track with delicious depth.

The Gold Fields remix of ‘Sweet Ophelia’ by Zella Day is a nice follow on from the Kid. Same ilk, slightly more up-tempo. A summer tune if ever we heard one.
