Mike’s Monday Morning #Playlist – 14.04.14
XWHY’s Mike Thomas lays down a selection of the best new and recent music to get your Monday started right….
Starting this week off slowly, we’ve got some sweetly languid tunes on the list, for post-hangover ear-soothing purposes.
We’ve got Aussie lass Brooke Addamo, otherwise known as Owl Eyes, with ‘Crystalised’ – a La Roux-esque offering, all synthy and ’80s. Magic.
For those still ruminating about the weekend’s activities – or basically anyone looking forward to some proper Monday night sexy time – have a listen to Movement‘s ‘Like Lust’. It’s a profoundly strange track, in technical musical terms. There’s no real beginning, middle or end and it certainly doesn’t fall into any obvious genre. But it’s cool, so yeah.
And if you’ve had enough of the gentle break-in, get your brain in gear with a bit of Jonas Rathsman. The Swede with the beard has been at it again – ‘Hope I’m Wrong’ is a good seven minutes of housey joy. Do it.
