Mike’s Monday Music Playlist 16/3/15

XWHY’S MIKE CURATES THE PICK OF THE MUSICAL CROP TO SOUNDTRACK YOUR MONDAY MORNING.

You would be forgiving for thinking that the man who kicks off this weeks playlist was raised in the deep south of America listening to a mix of Motown records and Country rock but alas, Rag’n’Bone Man aka Rory Graham was born in Uckfield (Nope, we’d never heard of it either but we’re assured that it’s a lovely little place in Sussex). His voice is a wonderous concoction of gruff soul that will blow you away.

The North London hitmaker Jimmy Napes has been beavering away behind the scenes working with acts such as Clean Bandit, Disclosure, Mary J Blige and Sam Smith in the past year but 2015 see’s his debut EP and hopefully a lot more music to come. For now his track “Give it up” will keep us more than happy.

Ok we’ll start with the obvious, yes she does look a little like Eva Mendes. Now that’s covered let talk about how Swedish songstress Snoh Allegra is one of THE vocal talents to watch out for in 2015. Following her track “Bad Things” with Common, expectations were high and she has not disappointed with her RZA produced track “Emotional”.
