Mike’s Monday Morning #Playlist – 14.10.13

Your weekly Spotify playlist and Soundcloud mix from XWHY’s very own music master…

The return of a couple of familiar faces this week. Beck’s back with his third single release of the year ‘Gimme’ and he’s updated the lo-fi early 90s sounds we’d all associate with him, to include some heavily manipulated, effect-laden vocals and some pretty xylophone patterns. Beck traditionalists might not be so keen, but they’ll be encouraged to learn that we hear he’s got an acoustic album in the works.

Also making a(nother) comeback is the Lose Yourself rap master himself, Eminem. An interesting release from Mr Mathers – ‘Berzerk’ cuts through all the wrist-slitting tracks like ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and harps back to the funnier, just-don’t-give-a-f*** tracks of his Slim Shady and D12 days. A lot of people won’t like the Beastie Boys style production

We’re big fans of Eliza Doolittle here at XWHY. She’s been teaming up with some pretty epic people. This Wookie collab is nothing short of great.
