Braun SK6 Phonograph and Radio
Dieter Rams and Hans Gugelot’s beautiful design and the first phonograph with a clear plexiglass lid. For fans of ‘50s and 60s Bakelite-esque design, this has all the appeal of a mid-century product, with the workablility of something much more modern.
Knowing that it was originally dubbed the “schneewitchensarg” – translated as “Snow White’s Coffin” – only adds to the charm.
The circuits are based on vacuum tubes, giving it a warmer tone. The amplifier is stereo, meaning you can connect two external speakers to it. It even has a DIN connector in the back panel (so you can plug in a sneaky iPod, should you feel the need).
