3 Excellent Career Choices For All Age Groups

Selecting a career is undoubtedly one of the hardest and most important things we do in our lives. It comes at such an early stage as well when we hardly know who we are yet – and we’re somehow supposed to know exactly what we’d like to do for the rest of our lives.

Luckily, you don’t have to stick to what you chose when you were 18, though, and it’s not unusual to change career paths a few times. Here is a handful of great career choices for any age group, plus a bit of what it takes to succeed in these industries.

That way, you’ll at least know that you have your options open.

#1 Becoming a nurse

You probably know that the country is in need of more nurses. The population is increasingly growing older and need someone to take care of them – and, hopefully, sooner rather than later, the government is going to start paying nurses the salary they deserve.

You will work both long and hard shifts, though, often during nights. If you love to work with people and know in your heart that you have a carer in you, then this career is definitely a perfect fit. It’s perhaps better to embark on this career while you’re still young, however, as the longs shifts will be tougher the older you get.

#2 Get into teaching

It’s probably one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs out there. Teaching is something you can start with when you’re straight out of university – or you can wait a few years, and start to teach those who’d like to embark on the career you had before you became a teacher.

The great thing about being a teacher is that you get to spend all day talking about what you love. Plus, you’ll get some nice and long holidays. There will be quite a lot of work after hours, though, so it’s not for the faint of heart. Read more about what it takes here before you decide on anything.

#3 Become an accountant

Another excellent option for whatever age group you belong to is to become an accountant. The pay is quite decent, and you can even get an AAT qualification by Avado Learning which means that you get to study at home during your spare time.

This makes it a lot easier to change career paths while you’re still juggling a full-time job as you won’t have to show up for any lectures.

It’s no wonder that some people decide to change career paths when they’re 30, 40 or even 50 – it’s what we’re supposed to be doing every day for the rest of our lives, after all.

Luckily, it’s so easy these days to find out which career is right for you as well as managing to study for another degree at your own pace.
